Beijing Wins Bid To Become First City To Host Winter and Summer Olympic Games

Reporting from Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia – The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has elected the city of Beijing to host the 2022 Olympic Winter Games, historically making it the first city to host both Summer and Winter editions of the Olympics.

Beijing defeated underdog Almaty in Kazakhstan – a city that promised real snow, real venues, real sports culture and a close connection to Agenda 2020 but China’s promise of experience, reliability and a large potential winter sports market won out.
