New PyeongChang 2018 Head Begins Duties

Cho Yang -ho, the new head of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games, began his duties Monday following a briefing during a meeting in Seoul on the overall Games preparations.

Cho stressed the importance of team communication and cohesion, and asked the committee members to “transcend regions and ideologies to prepare for the national event of great significance”. He also urged all staff members to do their best to successfully organize the PyeongChang 2018 Games, keeping in mind that the committee is preparing for a mega international event while presenting Gangwon and Korea to the world.

On Tuesday he travelled to PyeongChang and was briefed on areas such as transport, accommodations, sports and technology; and toured the sports venues and venue sites that are either under construction or in the planning stages.

The organization is sending a high-level delegation to the Nanjing 2014 Youth Games on the weekend.
