Reporting From Lausanne, Switzerland – Bids to host the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games will need to convince 42 International Olympic Committee (IOC) voters to cast ballots in their favour to guarantee that they’ll host the Games.
Italian entry Milan-Cortina and Sweden’s Stockholm Åre are battling head-to-head Monday afternoon at the 134th IOC Session in Lausanne, Switzerland, vying to host the prestigious event in 2026.
Of 95 total members, only 85 are eligible to vote, and others are absent. There are 82 present eligible voters, and the winner will require 50 percent +1 to clinch the win if all ballots are cast.
