Madrid’s Mayor Alberto Ruiz-Gallardon says he’s “convinced” that Madrid will be chosen host city of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
ThinkSpain reports that the Mayor and President of the PP for the central government, Mariano Rajoy, are “absolutely certain” of Madrid’s winning the bid. The Mayor said, “we will be an Olympic city, don’t have any doubt about it.
“And we will be so not only because the work that had to be done has been done, but because, overall, in addition to the support of the people of Madrid, we have also had the generous support of all Spanish people”.
Madrid lost its bid for the 2012 Summer Games to London.
