More than six months after French residents said they would like Paris to host the 2024 Olympic Games but believe a bid will not succeed, there are reports that Paris is launching a feasibility study into a 2024 bid.
CNOSF President Denis Masseglia reportedly said, “Fall 2014 will mark an important appointment as it will mark the publication of the result of the study in which 14 working groups have mobilized to determine whether it is appropriate or not to embark on a new adventure Olympic. If the study is positive, the period from October to April is devoted to communication for public support to find funding sources and define the governance of a nominating committee”.
According to respondents surveyed last January by the BVA institute for Le Parisien Magazine, 56 per cent said that France should bid for the 2024 Games, but 64 per cent believe it will not succeed.
Paris lost bids for the 1992, 2008 and 2012 Olympics.
