All Olympic sports are to be investigated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) following the death of Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili at the Vancouver Olympic Games.
IOC spokeswoman Emmanuel Moreau told the German Press Agency DPA that the IOC and relevant sports federations have begun a probe. Moreau said, “the IOC, in cooperation with the International Sports Federations, has initiated a full technical review of the safety and health aspects of all sports on the program of the Olympic Games (Summer and Winter).
“Together we will assess whether any specific measures need to be considered in the future. The safety of the athletes at the Olympic Games is paramount”.
