U.S. IOC member and LA 2024 Senor Advisor for Legacy, Anita DeFrantz, and LA 2024 Vice Chair Janet Evans, are in Algeria to attend the 10th anniversary of the Africa International Sports Convention (CISA). DeFrantz who is speaking on the IOC`s Olympic Agenda 2020 reforms at the convention, and Evans, are joined by Chief Marketing Officer Terrence Burns and United States Olympic Committee Director of International Strategies and Development Dragomir Cioroslan.
Defrantz called it an honor to participate “in this important convention about the development of sport in Africa and the positive effects of sport in African society and economies”.
She added, “The U.S. Olympic Committee and many African national Olympic committees share a special relationship in sport underpinned by a common desire to help each other drive sustainable positives legacies”.

Evans said “ìt is a privilege to be in Algeria attending CISA and representing Los Angeles 2024 for the convention`s 10th anniversary. As we look to create the best possible bid for the Olympic Movement and the City of Los Angeles, California, and the United States, we relish the opportunity to participate in events like CISA that allow us to listen and learn. Los Angeles is home to nearly 70,000 African-born Angelenos and if we have the honor of hosting the Games in 2024, we are committed to providing a home field advantage for the thousands of African athletes and visitors whom we invited to `Follow The Sun` to our city for the Games.”
Los Angeles is competing against rivals Budapest, Paris and Rome for the right to host the 2024 Olympic Games. The International Olympic Committee will choose a winner in September 2017.
