Andorra Re-activated on BidIndex, Salzburg Improves

Andorra la Vella (ALV) has been re-activated on BidIndex after being halted for two months due to the uncertainty of its bid. Bid officials have assured GamesBids.com that its 2010 bid campaign will proceed. ALV was re-activated at 42.98, down 2.47.

Salzburg was the biggest gainer with a BidIndex of 57.44 (up 1.88) and Vancouver (BI 57.12) dropped to third-best behind top-ranked Berne (BI 59.50) and Salzburg. Vancouver’s continued transportation issues were largely to blame.

Rounding off the list were Jaca (BI 48.79), Pyeongchang (BI 42.72), Harbin (BI 37.73) and Sarajevo (BI 26.79).

BidIndex is a model that when applied to an Olympic Bid, produces a number that can be used to rate a bid relative to others – and possibly gauge it’s ultimate success.
