GamesBids.com Updates BidIndex 2010; Berne Delisted

GamesBids.com has updated BidIndex for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games with the biggest change being the delisting of Berne due to its withdrawal from the race. Berne had been halted for two weeks on the index due to a referendum that decided the bid’s fate.

Other developments, including a potentially controversial solution for Vancouver’s transportation problems, have been factored into this update which reveals a small increase for each of the remaining three bids.

Vancouver had the biggest increase, up 0.64 to a BidIndex of 61.88 while Salzburg continues to lead with 64.30, up 0.47. Pyeongchang trails with 50.95, up 0.49.

BidIndex is a model developed by GamesBids.com that when applied to an Olympic Bid, produces a number that can be used to rate a bid relative to others in the past – and possibly gauge it’s ultimate success.
