GamesBids.com has reactivated BidIndex which has been halted since the USOC made its short-list announcement for 2012 Summer Olympic Games Candidates on Tuesday. Only New York and San Francisco remain after Houston and Washington were cut from the list and delisted from BidIndex.
San Francisco continues to boast the highest BidIndex at 69.05, up marginally by 0.31. New York was up 1.25 to 66.31. The indexes changed due to the delisting of the failed bids and the resulting co-dependent adjustments. The USOC released no other new fundamental information as part of their announcement.
BidIndex for the 2010 Winter Games remains halted until adjustments are made as a result of the IOC short-listng on Wednesday. The IOC published an evaluation report which will be comprehended in the update. It should be reactivated shortly.
BidIndex is a model that when applied to an Olympic Bid, produces a number that can be used to rate a bid relative to others – and possibly gauge it’s ultimate success. The USOC will determine the winner November 2-3, 2002.
