The Changi Exhibition Centre (CEC) will be the Official Exhibition Venue for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games which takes place August 14 to 26, 2010.
A Singapore 2010 press release says the CEC will be the logistics hub for the 2010 Youth Games between April 2010 and March 2011. It will house all the furniture, fixtures and equipment required for the Games, including sports competition equipment, audio-visual equipment, Information Technology, and telecommunications systems and accessories, cables and systems as well as kitchen, medical and office equipment and supplies, etc.
CEC will also be the IT factory for the assembly and installation of software systems for games time functions. System testing will be carried out at the CEC before delivery to the competition and other venues.
Goh Kee Nguan, Chief Executive Office of Singapore 2010 said, “the logistics hub is a crucial system for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games. All the equipment and systems will be thoroughly checked and tested in the logistics hub before they are delivered to the competition and other venues for the smooth operation of the Games”.
