Singapore 2010 Unveils Culture And Education Pictograms

Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore’s Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, unveiled Wednesday the seven Culture and Education Programme (CEP) pictograms for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games.

The CEP pictograms depict the seven formats of activities that Singapore 2010 says it offers to young athletes taking part in next year’s Youth Games. The seven formats are Chat with Champions, Discovery Activity, World Culture Village, Arts and Culture, Community Project, Exploration Journey and Island Adventure.

Goh Kee Nguan, Chief Executive Officer of Singapore 2010 said, “for the Youth Olympic Games we have integrated the sport competition with the Culture and Education Programme. The CEP encourages greater learning, sharing and interaction among the athletes while inspiring them to embrace and live the Olympic values.”.

The Games-time CEP activities have been developed to inspire athletes to adopt and live by the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect, said a press release. They are built around five themes, Olympism, Skills Development, Well Being and Healthy Lifestyle, Social Responsibility, and Expression.
