Singapore 2010 Youth Games, in collaboration with the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Singapore Mint, launched Tuesday three Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games coins.
The three coins are gold, silver and copper-nickel, valued at S$10, S$5 and S$2 respectively.
The gold coin represents the golden moments athletes will experience at the Singapore Games, the silver coin is Singapore’s first hologram coin in colour, created to celebrate the nation as the host city of the inaugural Youth Games, and the copper-nickel coin is a new innovation made of bi-metal with colour.
The coins are to be sold individually. The silver coin can be packaged together with a set of four silver-plated medallions decorated with Singapore 2010 sport pictograms and orchids, a symbol of Singapore, to form a coin set.
A coin exhibition has been set up at the Olympic Superstore from June 29 to July 18.
