The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced Tuesday it has received the Candidature Files of the three cities bidding to host the 2018 Winter Olympic Games – Munich, Annecy and PyeongChang. All three cities met the January 11 deadline.
The IOC Evaluation Commission, chaired by IOC member Gunilla Lindberg, will analyze the Candidature Files and inspect the sites. The commission will visit Annecy February 9 to 12, PyeongChang February 16 to 19 and Munich March 1 to 4.
The commission will then prepare a report that will be published to coincide with the 2018 briefing for IOC members which takes place in Lausanne on May 18 and 19.
The election of the host city will be on July 6 during the 123rd IOC Session in Durban, South Africa.
