The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has appointed Gian-Franco Kasper, an IOC member and President of the International Ski Federation (FIS), Chairman of the Coordination Commission for the 1st Winter Youth Olympic Games in 2012.
The Coordination Commission includes IOC members and representatives from the Olympic Movement who will monitor preparations for the Youth Games and guide the Innsbruck Organising Committee over the next three years.
Kasper was a member of the Coordination Commission for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games, the Turin 2006 Winter Games, the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games and the Sochi 2014 Games.
Innsbruck’s first inspection by the Coordination Commission will be January 14 and 15.
