A large contingent of Japanese press are at the London 2012 Summer Paralympic Games to cover the event – 257 individuals representing 39 Japanese media outlets
On August 29, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government officially opened the doors of Japan House, a meeting point presenting Japanese culture and the latest information related to the Japanese Paralympic Team in London.
Also, representatives from Tokyo 2020, official participants in the IOC Observer Programme, will spend the next two weeks in London engaging with members of LOCOG and the rest of the Olympic Family to gain insight on how to further enrich the Tokyo 2020 Games Plan.
Tokyo 2020 is working alongside the Japan Paralympic Committee to ensure that the 2020 bid plan provides “convenient, accessible and comfortable venues” for all Paralympians and spectators of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In March Tokyo announced a new strategy for promoting sports for the disabled. Tokyo 2020 promises that the Tokyo 2020 Games will not only advance sports for people with disabilities, but also help these people integrate more deeply into society.
