Speaking ahead of Friday’s Opening Ceremony of the inaugural Winter Youth Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria, International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge backed a possible British bid for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
Rogge said, “you have a whole series of events, with the Commonwealth Games, the Rugby World Cup in 2015, and the Athletics World Championships in London in 2017. We’d welcome a bid for 2018”.
The British Olympic Association has given cities under the end of January to bid for the 2018 Summer Youth Games and is to decide next month whether to enter one, reports This Is London.
