The Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games bid committee addressed Argentina’s senior level sports executives gathered in Buenos Aires for the First Sports Leaders Congress.

Buenos Aires Under-Secretary of Sport and Chief Executive of the bid committee, Francisco Irarrazaval, welcomed the nation’s sports leaders, and in a keynote speech expressed the bid’s vision for hosting the Games in 2018.

He said, “our bid is founded on the idea to create amazing sporting opportunities that benefits Buenos Aires, Argentina and the entire Olympic Movement.

Irarrazaval added, “if Buenos Aires has the honour of hosting the Youth Olympic Games in 2018, the improved sporting facilities in the heart of the city will transform how we will be able to deliver youth sport to our community of dedicated sports fans.

“Our city is committed to developing youth sport and our Youth Olympic Games bid is at the centre of this plan. Youth sport is the cornerstone of the social, educational, and cultural growth of Buenos Aires”.

The First Sports Leaders Congress covered topics such as management, motivation, teamwork, leadership, sports media and marketing.
