The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced Tuesday it has received the Candidature Files of the five candidate cities bidding to host the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
The five cities, Buenos Aires, Glasgow, Guadalajara, Medellin and Rotterdam, all delivered their files to the IOC by the October 15 deadline.
A sixth city, Poznan Poland, withdrew its bid last week due to lack of financial guarantees.
An IOC Working Group chaired by IOC member Claudia Bokel will analyze the files and prepare a report to be submitted to the IOC Executive Board. The board will then decide which cities will be shortlisted for further evaluation at its meeting in Lausanne February 12-13.
Following further assessment and video conferences with the five shortlisted Candidate Cities, a report will be submitted to the IOC members, who will then elect the host city for the 2018 Youth Games at their meeting in Lausanne July 4, 2013.
