Singapore plans to celebrate Thursday when the results of who will host the 2010 Youth Olympic Games are revealed. The announcement will be beamed via satellite from Lausanne to the Padang where the celebrations are taking place.
At 5:30 p.m. the Padang will be turned into a carnival area with games and performances.
About 5,000 people representing schools, youth organizations and corporations will be present at the celebrations Thursday.
To show support for Singapore’s bid everyone attending is encouraged to wear red.
Richard Tan, Director of Communications and International Relations, Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports said, “we have a very good chance of winning this bid. Even if we don’t win, we had won because the journey that we have taken so far has given us a lot of experience in knowing how to go for something bigger than ourselves.
Moscow is the only city competing against Singapore for the 2010 Youth Games.
