The operational management team includes several sporting champions, experts and technicians. It features several “elite” sportsmen and women, “who are already working hard in support of the Annecy 2018 project, assisted by specialist high-quality service providers”, said the press release.
Annecy 2018 has been built around athletes from its very inception. At the start of 2010 the board of the Annecy 2018 Association decided to take a step further in the organization of the bid, aiming to prepare the ground for the international promotional activities that get underway in July. This phase, directed by Christian Monteil, President of the Departmental Council of Haute-Savoie, and the deputy president of Annecy 2018, led to a new organizational structure being proposed.
A monitoring committee is bringing together representatives from the bid’s institutional partners – the City of Annecy, Department Council of Haute-Savoie, the Rhone-Alpes region, the State and the French National Olympic and Sporting Committee (CNOSF).
Annecy 2018 says its bid includes a Games with a strong environmental focus, with sixty five per cent of sporting infrastructures already in place.
