Amongst the information specifically required by the IOC are several price figures for venue building to hotel rooms and anywhere in between. The 96-page document contains details on these.

The total cost of the bid process will be $21 million (all figures in U.S. dollars) including $7 million for the applicant phase and an additional $14 million to complete the candidate phase if Annecy is selected to the short list in June. $13.5 million will be publically funded.

The bid committee expects $1.13 billion total operating revenue including $629 million for sponsorships and $215 million for ticket sales assuming an 85% sell out of available tickets.

There will be 13 competition venues; the curling venue will require no work but six venues will require permanent upgrades, two new venues are already planned to be built and four other venues will be built if the Games are hosted in Annecy.

$419 million is budgeted for venue construction including $96.5 million – the highest single amount – for speed skating and $77.5 million for men’s ice hockey.

Several transportation improvements are planned for Annecy – infrastructure already planned will cost $646 million; additional items required for the Games amount to $332 million and $1.159 billion has been allotted for improvements to existing infrastructure. A total of $2.137 billion is the cost of the transportation plan.

During Games time the cost for hotel rooms are expected to range from $172 for a three star single to $1573 for a five star suite.

The IOC will produce an evaluation of Annecy’s bid file in June when the three 2018 applicants learn whether they’ve been added to the short list of candidates.
