France’s Prime Minister Francois Fillon will arrive in Annecy Tuesday to endorse the city’s bid for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
The Prime Minister’s office said he will meet with members of the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Evaluation Commission that are inspecting Annecy’s 2018 bid February 9 to 12.
There are reports that French President Nicolas Sarkozy is also planning a trip to Annecy this week, but his office has not confirmed the visit.
Annecy is competing with PyeongChang and Munich for the 2018 Winter Games. The IOC will select the host city July 6 in Durban, South Africa.
