Following the release of the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Evaluation Commission report on the 2018 Winter Bid cities, NOlympia, a group that opposes Munich’s bid for the 2018 Winter Games, says that some of the mistakes made in Munich’s bid have now been officially confirmed by the IOC report released Monday.
NOlympia cites the low approval ratings for the bid in Munich, Bavaria and throughout Germany, the environmental objectives that would not be attained, and land that has been planned for but is not available.
NOlympia quotes Ludwig Hartmann, the Green member of Parliament saying that “even the IOC noted the steadily declining approval rates in the population” which last year was only a “disastrous” 53 per cent.
Hartmann, a spokesman for NOlympia results said, “the IOC report proves that we are right with our criticism”.
