A judging panel appointed by the Rio 2016 Organizing Committee has completed its evaluation of design proposals for the 2016 Paralympic emblem, and the chosen logo will now be sent to the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) for final approval.
The 12 members of the panel unanimously voiced their preference from among the design proposals presented by Brazilian agency Tatil Design de Ideias.
If the logo is approved, there will be an extensive worldwide search to check the existence of other emblems that might conflict with the chosen logo.
An alternative emblem, to be approved by the judging panel, will also be sent to the IPC and will undergo the same search.
For five years after its unveiling the Paralympic Games emblem will receive national and international exposure.
