Now that PyeongChang’s bid for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games is official, the office of Gangwon Province, where PyeongChang is located, has announced that Yu-na Kim, 2009 Figure Skating World Champion, has been appointed the first Honorary Ambassador for the bid.
Kim also worked with the failed PyeongChang 2014 Winter Olympic bid.
As ambassador Kim will actively engage in many promotional events for PyeongChang 2018.
Kim said, “I sincerely hope, this time, PyeongChang wins the honour of hosting the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. I think the best way to promote PyeongChang is to have good results in international events, not to mention the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. I will surely do my best to get the best performance”.
Jin-Sun Kim, Governor of Gangwon Province said Kim will be a great addition to boost PyeongChang’s 2018 campaign.
