Una Meta para Todos (“A Common Goal”) taking place June 1, is the first fun run of its kind to be held in Madrid. The Liberty Seguros Group and the Spanish Paralympic Committee, in conjunction with Madrid City Council and Madrid 2016 organized the event.
According to a media release the run demonstrates the city’s commitment to inclusion through sports and raises the profile of disabled sports men and women in the country.
Mercedes Coghen, CEO of Madrid’s 2016 bid said, “this is a really exciting time for sports in Madrid with this first fun run coming just two weeks before the new city-wide Madrid Sports Day. The support from Spanish people is outstanding and events like these build on the existing enthusiasm as well as reminding people that sport is available and relevant to everyone”.
Organizers expect more than 5,000 people to participate in the run.
