A Spanish delegation travelled to the Italian resort of Pescara Thursday to promote Madrid’s bid for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games at the 16th Mediterranean Games of Pescara taking place June 26 to July 5.
The delegation is headed by Alberto Ruiz-Gallardon, Mayor of Madrid, and accompanied by Mercedes Coghen, leader of Madrid 2016, Antonio Fernandez Arimany, general manager, Raul Chapado, sports director and Tania Paessier, direction of international relations.
In Pescara Madrid 2016 officials will take part in the opening ceremony of the 16th Mediterranean Games in the Adriatic Stadium where they will meet several members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)
The 16th Mediterranean Games of Pescara brings together more than 4,000 athletes from 23 countries around the Mediterranean.
