The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced Thursday it has received the Candidature Files of the four Candidate Cities – Chicago, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro and Madrid – bidding for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
The IOC Evaluation Commission, chaired by IOC Executive Board Member Nawal El Moutawakel, will analyze the Candidature Files and inspect the four bid cities.
The commission will visit Chicago April 4 to 7, Tokyo April 16 to 19, Rio de Janeiro April 29 to May 2 and Madrid May 5 to 8.
The commission will then prepare a report to be published and submitted to IOC members no later than one month before the 2016 host city election on October 2 during the 121st IOC Session in Copenhagen.
