Toronto, site of the 2015 Pan Am Games, will be hosting the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO) General Assembly meeting October 8-11.
An estimated 350 delegates, led by PASO President Mario Vazquez Rana, will attend the meeting at Toronto’s Westin Harbour Castle hotel, located on the Lake Ontario waterfront.
The meeting will include a comprehensive update for PASO delegates by the Toronto 2015 Pan Am organizing committee (TO2015) as well as future international Games organizers, and the election and announcement of the host city for the 2019 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games. The cities competing include La Punta Argentina, Santiago Chile, Lima Peru, and Ciudad Bolivar Venezuela.
The Toronto 2015 Games open on July 10, 2015 and will feature an estimated 6,000 athletes from 41 countries competing in 36 sports, including women’s baseball and golf for the first time. Venues for the 2015 Games are located in 15 municipalities in southern Ontario.
Together with the Parapan Am Games, they will be the largest international multisport Games ever held in Canada.
